| Name | Shortwave |
| Overview | Shortwave is an AI-assisted email client for organizing messages, finding information and drafting replies. It connects through Gmail or Google Workspace; some other providers can be used through forwarding arrangements. It combines inbox organization with summaries, search and email-based tasks rather than guaranteeing reduced stress or a particular productivity gain. |

| Who uses? | Busy professionals, knowledge workers, individuals seeking productivity tools, and technology enthusiasts. |
| Pricing | Free access is available with limitations, and a 14-day trial is advertised. The current Business pricing view lists Business at $30, Premier at $45 and Max at $120 per seat/month. The billing guide states that new subscriptions are billed monthly. These are Business-view prices, not a verified list of Individual offers. Select the appropriate view and confirm your checkout terms; the former Personal $7 / Pro $14 / Business $24 annual list should not be used for current purchases. |

| App available? | Yes: iOS, Android, macOS, Windows and web access. Gmail/Google Workspace is the connection point. Official guidance lists Microsoft 365/Exchange as unsupported; Outlook.com forwarding does not provide sending from that address. |
Check Fit Before Moving Your Workflow
First confirm that your email provider and workplace policies support the connection method. Try search and summarization on a non-sensitive thread, compare the answer with the original, and review any drafted reply before sending. Begin filters with a reversible action such as labeling rather than automatic deletion. A plan’s AI search history, thread limit and usage quota are distinct limits; do not assume unlimited standard search means unlimited AI requests.
Forwarding another provider into Gmail is not the same as native support for that provider. Check sending restrictions and get organizational approval before forwarding work email. Shortwave’s billing guide says one paid person can use paid features across their own accounts signed in on the same device; adding other people to a team adds paid seats.
