Mailr is an email-drafting Chrome extension. Its website now announces that Mailr has been acquired by MailWiz. That announcement establishes a relationship between the brands, but does not show that Mailr accounts, subscriptions or extension features have migrated unchanged.
| Name | Mailr |
| Overview | The Mailr website describes drafting messages and replies from a short instruction and a selected tone. Its linked Chrome Web Store listing remains identifiable as Mailr. |
| Key features and limits | Advertised functions include email drafting and more than ten tone choices. The extension description names OpenAI GPT-3/ChatGPT, but the current backend model and output quality were not tested. |
| Use cases and applications | Prepare a draft of a routine inquiry, invitation or reply, then check the content yourself. Do not treat the provider’s speed claims as measured productivity results. |
| Who uses? | People considering browser-based help with personal or work correspondence, subject to their organization’s data-sharing rules. |
| Pricing | The Mailr page still advertises a free tier with a 2,000-word limit and a paid tier. The free allowance’s reset period, currency, current checkout and post-acquisition applicability were not verified. Do not assume MailWiz’s separate offer is a Mailr plan. |
| Tags | Email drafting, tone adjustment, Chrome extension. |
| App available? | An official-linked Chrome Web Store listing is accessible. It shows version 1.0.3, updated April 30, 2023. That listing is not proof of current installation compatibility or a working backend. No native mobile app was verified. |
Check privacy claims before sharing email content
The extension’s promotional description says emails are not stored or shared, while its store privacy disclosure identifies handling of personal communications, authentication, identifying information and payment information. Those statements do not establish that no data is processed. This review did not inspect the extension’s code, permissions after installation or backend behavior. Review applicable policies and your employer’s rules before supplying sensitive correspondence.
A draft is not permission to send
For example, ask for a polite meeting invitation using only a proposed date and purpose. Check the recipient, time zone and any implied commitments in the resulting text. Remove information the recipient does not need and send only after your own review. This is an illustrative workflow, not an email generated or sent with Mailr during this review.
Sources and image context
Reviewed October 30, 2026. Sources: the Mailr website, its linked Chrome Web Store listing, and the linked MailWiz website. MailWiz describes a separate Gmail workflow; no feature or pricing equivalence is assumed here. No extension, account, private mailbox or generation was tested.
The retained image is an earlier Mailr landing page with branding and a paused promotional video panel. Its capture date is unknown. It is not a screenshot of MailWiz, evidence of a current subscription, or a performance test.
The retained social links come from the earlier Mailr listing; their current ownership and post-acquisition affiliation were not independently verified in this review.
