Winch

Winch is App Store optimization that your AI agent runs for you, covering the App Store and Google Play. It appeared on Show HN on October 31, 2026, and this post is based on its official website, checked on November 1, 2026.

What Winch does

Winch searches both stores in every country you sell in and turns it into one keyword board: where you rank, how many people each search reaches, how hard the top 10 is to beat, and what to do next. Its agent answers plain-language questions, drafts your name, subtitle, and keywords several ways scored on real searches, localizes listings into every language, draws captioned store art in every size both stores take, and sorts daily reviews into themes, catching regressions like a fix that did not hold.

You can drive it two ways: an in-app agent with an “Act” mode that visibly drives the interface, or all 84 tools as an MCP server for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and any other client, with the five store-writing tools always asking first. A launch planner checks names and finds winnable keywords before the app exists, and a results view shows the stores’ own numbers before and after every listing change.

Your AI, your data

Winch has no model of its own and sells no AI credits: it runs on the AI you already pay for, your Claude Pro or Max plan through Claude Code, your ChatGPT plan through Codex, OpenCode, a local Ollama model, or an OpenRouter key. Everything it learns stays on your Mac, with no account to create, and nothing is ever submitted to a store without your confirmation.

Who it is for

Winch is built for indie app developers and small teams shipping on iOS and Android: anyone who has watched a keyword slip and wants to know why, teams localizing across countries, and developers who would rather ask their agent “which keywords did I lose this week” than run spreadsheets by hand.

Pricing

Winch costs $69 as a one-time license for the first 100 licenses, then $89. It runs on macOS 13 or later, Apple Silicon and Intel, and a one-day free trial needs no key or card. Prices may change, so check the official website for the latest pricing: https://getwinch.app/.
