SkillScout is a Chrome extension that finds the right reusable skills for your AI agents directly on the page you are viewing. It appeared on Hacker News Show HN on October 27, 2026. Install it from the Chrome Web Store, open any website, and SkillScout looks at the site you are on, searches relevant skill catalogs, and surfaces the best-matching agent skills in seconds, ranked by relevance, popularity, and trust, with official skills prioritized.
Less tab switching, faster setup
SkillScout reads the active site and derives a useful keyword from the hostname and page context, then shows the top results right in the popup, with a direct path to the original skill page and more results when you need them. It covers workflows across content creation, project management, marketing and ads, development, knowledge work, and customer support. For example, on a video site it can surface skills for scripting, SEO, and thumbnail generation, and on a code host it can surface skills for code review, issue management, and CI pipelines.
SkillScout for agents
SkillScout also ships a skill for your agent itself. Install it with npx skills add ulyanas/skillscout-skills@find-official-skills -y, then ask your agent to find official skills for a product, company, domain, or task without leaving the agent. It works across AI ecosystems that support reusable skills, including Claude and Claude Code Skills, OpenAI Codex Skills, OpenCode Agent Skills, GitHub Copilot custom agents and skills, ChatGPT custom GPTs, Gemini Gems, Cursor rules and MCP tools, Windsurf Cascade MCP tools, and Replit Agent project context.
