Mem.ai is Mem, the AI notes and workspace product from Mem Labs. Its public website is get.mem.ai, while mem.ai opens the web application. This page keeps its personal-knowledge focus. Our Mem listing discusses capture workflows and integrations; both describe the same service, so their core features overlap.

How Mem helps organize personal knowledge
Mem Workspace brings captured information into one working space. The practical aim is to make saved material usable later, rather than leave it scattered across isolated notes. Its usefulness depends on the information you put into it and how well the results match your work.
- Find notes by meaning. Deep Search can retrieve content from a description even when you cannot remember the exact wording. Regular title suggestions, keyword results and filters remain useful when you know what you need.
- Rediscover related material. Heads Up surfaces related notes and collections while you work. Its meeting timeline can bring earlier discussions into view; topic suggestions can reconnect research with a current draft.
- Use flexible collections. A note can belong to several collections. Mem also offers auto-organization, so you can ask it to suggest placement rather than manually filing every item. Review those choices when accurate grouping matters.
Capture research without losing its context
The Mem Chrome extension can save full pages or selected passages into notes. You can add instructions for a summary or choose a collection. This is useful when collecting material for an article or project, but a generated summary should not replace checking the source when quoting facts or making decisions.
Another route is Email to Mem: forward a message from an authorized address to create a note. This capture method is different from continuously synchronizing an entire mailbox. Calendar connections and other configured integrations have their own setup and scope.
Sharing and collaboration
Mem supports collaboration within the same product. Notes begin private; you can share selected notes with other people. Shared Collections give members access to the notes added to them, including subsequent additions. Check the membership before placing confidential material in a shared collection.
The official team guide also describes a Mem Teams option for unified billing and access, available by contacting Mem. A separate team price should not be assumed from the individual plan list.
Example: preparing a research brief
For an illustrative workflow, a writer could clip three source articles, add their own interview notes and group them in a project collection. They could search for a specific argument, inspect related notes and then share only the material needed by a collaborator. Before submitting the brief, they should verify quotations, dates and conclusions against the originals. This example shows a possible workflow, not a tested claim about time saved or answer accuracy.
Limits to consider
Plan allowances affect usage, so a free account should not be treated as unlimited. Mem states that content is encrypted in storage and transit, but it is not end-to-end encrypted. Its privacy policy says personal data and notes are not used to train generalized AI models; service providers may still process information to deliver features. Consider your organization’s data rules before uploading work material.
