Updated October 18, 2026. Lingo Champion is a language-learning platform built around reading and listening to material that interests you. It combines real texts and videos with vocabulary tracking, translations, AI explanations and flashcards. The aim is to make useful content easier to understand while you build a record of what you have studied. Visit Lingo Champion.

What can you do with Lingo Champion?
- Read with support: Study news, books or other suitable texts, look up unfamiliar words and simplify difficult passages.
- Connect listening and reading: Watch videos, study song lyrics or listen to the texts you are reading.
- Review vocabulary: Track words and phrases, use flashcards and ask for AI explanations when a sentence needs more context.
- Follow your activity: Review reading and listening statistics rather than relying only on completing a fixed lesson sequence.
These are vendor-described capabilities, not results from a hands-on test. AI explanations can be wrong, and understanding a passage with assistance is different from recalling the vocabulary independently. Use an explanation as a starting point, then check the original sentence and a reliable language reference when the distinction matters.
Web, mobile apps and Chrome extension
Lingo Champion has a web app plus official iPhone and iPad and Android listings. The Android description includes importing your own study material, word and phrase lookups, grammar help, flashcards and AI chat. Store availability and device compatibility should be checked for your country and device.
The official Chrome extension adds selective translation to webpages. Its controls include choosing words or sentences, changing the translated percentage, excluding domains and hovering to see the original text. It also supports importing YouTube captions for later study and viewing possible translations while hovering over subtitles. These are separate browser features; installing the mobile app does not automatically install the extension.
Free and Premium limits
The public plan comparison, checked October 18, 2026, lists the following allowances:

- Free: Unlimited
- Premium: Unlimited

- Free: 50 total
- Premium: Included; no numerical cap shown
Sentence translations
- Free: 50 total

Audio transcription
- Free: Not included

- Premium: Included
AI-generated content
- Free: Included; no numerical allowance shown
- Premium: Included; no numerical allowance shown
The free lookup and extension allowances are labeled total, not monthly. Unlimited texts or videos therefore does not mean unlimited translation assistance. The current page no longer supports the older claim of 10 free or 100 Premium AI content items per month, and an unlisted cap should not be interpreted as a guarantee of unrestricted AI use.
Pricing and billing
The English website displays Premium at $7.99 per month and advertises three months free with yearly billing. It does not state a currency code or show the annual checkout total on that page, so confirm those details before subscribing. Do not calculate a supposedly confirmed website annual charge from the promotion alone.
Separately, the United States App Store listing specifies US$7.99 monthly or US$79.99 annually for Lingo Champion Premium. These are U.S. iOS subscription prices; they should not be assumed to apply to the website, Android or another region. An annual subscription is a yearly commitment, not a sequence of optional monthly payments. U.S. App Store subscription information.
The terms describe advance monthly or annual billing, generally non-refundable web payments, and store-managed refund policies for App Store and Google Play purchases. Store subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled. Importantly, deleting an account does not cancel its subscription: cancel through the platform where you bought it before deleting the account.
Example workflow: understand a short Spanish news story
This is a hypothetical study session, not a measured learning result:
- Choose a manageable topic. Start with a short, accessible article about something you already understand, such as public transport or a local event. Use material you are allowed to import.
- Read once for the main idea. Write one sentence in your own words about what happened. Avoid translating every unfamiliar word before you know the overall topic.
- Resolve the important gaps. Look up a few words that prevent understanding. If a phrase remains unclear, ask for its meaning in that sentence and compare the explanation with the source text.
- Adjust difficulty deliberately. If the passage is too hard, try a simplified version, then return to a short section of the original. Keep track of which wording came from the article and which was generated.
- Build a small review set. Save five useful words or phrases and review them as flashcards. Favor expressions you might use again rather than every new term in the story.
- Add listening and recall. Listen to the studied text, then summarize the main point without looking. Note what still needs help and choose the next piece accordingly.
For example, a free user planning ten word lookups per session would use the listed 50-total lookup allowance in five sessions, assuming no other lookups. That is simple quota planning, not a prediction of how quickly anyone will learn.
Privacy and content precautions
Lingo Champion’s privacy policy says it collects account and usage information and does not sell personal data. AI features may process messages, saved content, learning context and recent activity; the Marco feature may keep account-linked memory. Voice features can involve audio and transcripts, and external AI, speech and infrastructure providers may process data to deliver the service.
The same policy says the extension does not store browsing history or webpage text unless you explicitly save a translation. That is a provider statement, not an independent security audit or an assurance that every feature works entirely on your device. Avoid importing confidential documents or personal conversations. The terms also give the provider broad rights over user-added content, so review them before submitting material you cannot freely share.
Who is it a useful fit for?
Lingo Champion is worth evaluating if you want to spend more time reading and listening to topics you choose, with vocabulary help available when needed. A learner who needs a fixed syllabus, assessed speaking feedback or a qualification should check those requirements separately rather than assume that content exposure supplies them.
Use the free allowances to see whether the reading interface and review habits suit you before choosing a subscription. This overview checks public documentation and official store listings; it does not claim tested learning gains, teaching credentials or a fluency guarantee.
