Mint is discontinued: what former users should know

Mint is no longer a standalone service to start using for budgeting. Intuit now directs visitors to Credit Karma, where selected Mint features have a new home. This page explains that change and what to check before choosing your next money-management tool. See Intuit’s current Mint notice.

What happened to Mint?

In its October 31, 2023 announcement, Credit Karma said Mint was going away and described a phased transition for users who chose to move. It promised some popular Mint capabilities within Credit Karma, rather than every feature of the former product. That announcement is historical context, not an invitation to begin a new Mint migration today. Read the official announcement.

Which features does Credit Karma advertise?

The official Mint landing page points to transaction review, spending monitoring and net-worth tracking on Credit Karma. It also describes spending categories and monthly insights. These are Credit Karma features, not evidence that the original Mint app remains active. View the current feature notice.

Credit Karma’s linked information page advertises connections to more than 17,000 financial institutions, while warning that some institutions may not be supported. It describes free signup and access to linked-account transactions, categorized cash flow and net-worth information. Check support for your particular accounts before relying on the service. Review Credit Karma’s features and limitations.

Is Credit Karma an exact Mint replacement?

Do not assume feature-for-feature equivalence. Reviewing past spending is different from planning a monthly budget. If you relied on category spending limits, savings goals, custom transaction rules or exports, verify those specific workflows in the current product before switching. The official pages cited here establish selected tracking features; they do not establish that every former Mint budgeting workflow is available.

What should former Mint users do?

  • If you previously moved to Credit Karma: check which accounts and records are actually present, and compare balances and recent transactions with your financial institutions’ records.
  • If you saved a Mint export: keep an untouched backup. Before importing a copy into another tool, check its accepted format, date range and duplicate-handling rules. Test a small sample first.
  • If you need missing history: start with statements or downloads from your bank or card provider and the official support options. This page cannot confirm whether a particular old Mint record remains recoverable.
  • If you are choosing a new tool: list your essential features first: forward-looking budgets, supported accounts, exports, shared access, platform availability and total cost. Check current documentation rather than assuming a familiar brand provides the same experience.

Pricing and availability

There is no current standalone Mint signup offer to recommend here. The earlier Starter, Pro and Enterprise prices on this page were not supported by the official sources and have been removed. Credit Karma advertises free signup, but its financial-product offers have their own terms; free membership should not be read as a promise that every offered service is free. See the current Credit Karma information page.

Is this a hands-on review?

No. This is a source-based lifecycle update, checked October 14, 2026. We reviewed public Intuit and Credit Karma pages; we did not sign in, connect financial accounts or test migration, budgeting, exports or data recovery. The historical migration help page could not be retrieved during this check, so we do not provide a current migration procedure or guarantee access to old Mint data.
