Before sharing someone’s photo, show the exact image, name the platform and intended audience, and ask about tags separately. Someone may welcome the photo but not a profile link.
Choose from these 48 polite messages, attach the final image or preview, and replace bracketed details. Wait for a clear yes: silence, earlier photo approval, or permission to take a picture does not cover this post.

Before you copy and send
Make the request specific. Send the final image and caption, identify the account or group, and describe the audience. A private chat is not a promise that nobody will forward or screenshot the picture. Ask everyone pictured rather than relying on one person’s answer for the group.
Keep the choice easy. Accept a no without requesting an explanation. If a reply is unclear, use a polite clarification message. No reply means you should leave the photo unshared, not send repeated requests.
Respect the agreed limits. Permission for one photo, platform, audience, or caption does not cover a different use. Ask again before changing those details. Keep tags and location details out unless approved, and remove your post promptly if the person asks you to take it down.
