This page explains how GPTOnline reports and verifies its AI news, how we handle images and corrections, and how to reach the news desk. It applies to every article published under the GPTOnline Editorial Team byline.
Who we are
GPTOnline is an independent website about artificial intelligence, combining a free AI chat workspace, writing tools, a directory of AI tools and resources, and a news desk. The news desk publishes under the byline “GPTOnline Editorial Team.” GPTOnline is not affiliated with OpenAI or any other AI company, and no company pays for coverage in our news articles.
What we cover
We cover developments that matter to people who build with, invest in, or follow AI: new models and model updates, research releases, product launches, funding rounds and acquisitions, open-source projects, infrastructure, and AI policy and regulation. Our primary audience is in the United States, and our news articles are published in English.
How we verify our reporting
News moves fast, but speed never outranks accuracy in our newsroom.
- Every story must be verified against a primary source before publication: an official announcement, press release, product or research page, model card, regulatory filing, or an official post from the company involved. Reporting from major news wires, such as Reuters, is used to corroborate and, for market-moving claims, as an attributed source.
- Figures, prices, dates, benchmark results, and quotations are published only when they can be traced to such a source. We do not invent quotes, numbers, or details.
- If the core facts of a story cannot be verified, we do not publish it.
- Developing stories are updated as new confirmed information becomes available, and material updates are noted in the article.
Sources and links
Articles link to their sources inline, next to the claims they support, and list direct source links in a Sources section at the end of each article. When a story originates from an official post on a company’s own social media account, we cite that post and, where possible, embed it in the article.
Images
We use official images from the source of the story first, including press and product images, and credit them in the caption. Where no suitable official image exists, we may compose an editorial graphic from real brand assets, such as an official logo, and credit it as a graphic. We do not fabricate product interfaces, screenshots, or photographs of events, and we do not use other publishers’ copyrighted press photos.
AI assistance
GPTOnline’s news desk is AI-assisted. We use automated tools to monitor sources around the clock and to help draft articles. Every article, however it is drafted, must pass the verification standards on this page before it is published, and the standards themselves are set and reviewed by the publisher. We disclose this because readers deserve to know how their news is produced.
Corrections
We correct errors promptly and transparently. A corrected article notes what was changed. To report an error or request a correction, contact the news desk at [email protected].
