Historical product notice: Y Combinator’s profile labels Mutable.ai “Acquired.” Founder Omar Shams later stated that its Auto Wiki work was rebuilt by the team and others within Google as CodeWiki. This is not evidence that old Mutable subscriptions, accounts or prices transferred to a renamed service. The original website could not be retrieved during this review; that access failure alone does not establish a shutdown date.

A documentation-review example
For a hypothetical small open-source project, compare an AI-written explanation of one function with the actual implementation and its tests. Verify cited lines, dependencies and edge cases before accepting edits. This illustrates the old code-understanding use case; it is not a Mutable session or a tested result.
Account and repository precautions
Current Mutable privacy terms, retention, deletion and support arrangements were not recovered. Do not upload private repositories or secrets based on an old integration description. Shams said that Mutable data was not carried over in the Google rebuild; that statement is not an independently verified deletion record or a guarantee about every former customer’s data. Check any new service’s own permissions and terms rather than assuming continuity.
