One control plane for every model call

Cloptima sits in the request path between your application and the model providers it uses. Instead of rules living in a policy document, the gateway checks policy, redacts sensitive data, reserves budget, and prices each call on an attributed ledger before the provider ever sees a token. Setup is a one-line change: point your SDK at the gateway by changing the base URL, bind a policy, and the first governed call is live in about five minutes.

It is built for engineering and platform teams that run LLM features or agents in production and need spending and safety to be enforced, not just reported after the fact.

What it does

  • Guardrails before the provider sees a token. Redact secrets and PII with your own rules, catch prompt injection, and run Azure AI Content Safety, AWS Bedrock Guardrails, and Google Model Armor scans before a request reaches a provider. A blocked call costs nothing, and a redacted one never leaks.
  • Hard budgets that block, not only alert. Daily and monthly limits per policy, per-request token caps, and alert-only limits for experiments, so spending stops at the line you set.
  • Exact and semantic response caching. Repeat prompts are served from cache, on top of the provider’s own prompt cache, cutting token spend and response time. The site reports $695.89 saved in the example month shown on the homepage.
  • Automatic failover. A failing call retries, then moves to another provider for the same model, within the same budgets and guardrails, with nothing extra to set up.
  • MCP tool governance. Register the MCP servers your agents use, allow or deny each tool on every request, and review a tool’s definition when it changes. Example controls shown on the site include allowing code search while denying database writes.
  • One endpoint for 248+ models. OpenAI and Anthropic compatible endpoints cover OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Vertex AI, and Amazon Bedrock, using your own provider keys with no model markup.
  • An attributed ledger for every call. Spend is broken down by team, app, environment, model, and your own fields, priced at your negotiated rates, so finance and engineering read the same numbers.
  • Edge gateway in your own VPC. Run the gateway inside your network with your own keys and a local cache. It takes signed policy snapshots and reports usage back to Cloptima Cloud.
  • Low overhead. Policy, guardrails, budget, and ledger run in one pass on every call, with p95 overhead of up to 13ms according to the official site.

Who it is for

Cloptima fits teams shipping AI features or agents in production, especially where several apps, models, and providers are in play and nobody wants a surprise invoice. Platform teams get one place to enforce policy, finance teams get attributed spend they can reconcile, and developers keep their existing SDKs with a single base URL change. The console shows spend, traffic, and safety blocks from the first request, with no tagging project and no dashboard to build.

Pricing

Cloptima offers a free plan and paid tiers, all listed on its official pricing page. The AI Developer plan is free forever, with no credit card required, and includes the BYOK gateway, guardrails, budgets, MCP tool governance, 10,000 LLM events a month, 5 virtual keys, and 14-day retention. AI Starter costs $49 a month and adds exact-match caching, 100,000 events a month, and up to 5 team members. AI Pro costs $249 a month with semantic caching, unit economics, 1 million events a month, and up to 15 members. AI Growth costs $999 a month with 5 million events, Cloptima Duet early access, and one edge gateway instance. Enterprise pricing is custom. Paid plans include one-time LLM credits to start ($20 on Starter, $100 on Pro, $250 on Growth). Prices may change, so check the official pricing page for the latest details: cloptima.com/pricing.

Keep in mind

Cloptima is a young product, launched on Product Hunt on November 5, 2026, and the customer results quoted on its homepage (including a reported 38% monthly bill reduction) are vendor-published testimonials rather than independent verification. The official homepage and pricing page checked for this listing do not show a session replay feature, even though the launch announcement mentions it, so that capability is not listed here as verified. The free plan’s event and key limits mean larger teams will need a paid tier quickly.
