Apple has opened Siri AI app integration to every developer. A new Siri AI developer preview, seeded in the iOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, macOS 27.3 and visionOS 27.3 betas on Tuesday, lets any app expose its content and actions to Apple’s assistant for the first time, MacRumors reported.

Until now, only a smaller set of apps had deep hooks into the new assistant. Starting with the 27.3 betas, any developer can plug their app into Siri AI, turning natural-language requests like checking a delivery, booking a reservation or placing an order into in-app actions.

How the Siri AI Developer Preview Works

The path into Siri AI is App Intents, the framework developers already use for Siri and Shortcuts. “Starting today with the iOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, macOS 27.3, and visionOS 27.3 betas, a new Developer Preview enables any developer to integrate their app with Siri AI, giving businesses and developers new ways to reach and serve their customers,” Apple said in its Developer announcement. Developers must explicitly make content and actions available through App Intents; Siri does not get automatic access to everything inside an app, iClarified noted.

The bigger change may be app skills, a new capability that lets developers teach Siri AI to combine several actions into one request when a job needs more than a single step. At WWDC26, Apple had already presented App Intents as the way to bring app content and actions to Siri; the preview makes that path real for third-party developers, iThinkDiff reported.

Apple also wired new Siri AI actions into 15 of its own apps: Calendar, Files, Finder, Journal, Mail, Maps, Messages, Music, Notes, Photos, Preview, Reminders, Safari, Shortcuts and Weather.

Limited to Internal Testing for Now

For third-party developers, this remains a testing preview with real limits. Integrations can run in Xcode builds with a development profile and with internal TestFlight testers, but not through external TestFlight testing or App Store releases, iThinkDiff reported. Apple says the capabilities will first reach customers in a few months, with App Store submissions for these experiences opening in spring 2027. Hands-on reports put the public release of iOS 27.3 in December, rrtechpulse noted.

There are platform limits too. Siri AI currently supports English, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, and iOS 27.3 expands it to Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, Turkish and Norwegian, per MacRumors. It remains unavailable in the EU on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, and is not available to users under 13. Because this is a developer beta, Apple cautions that features can change or disappear before the public release.

Developers can ask Apple engineers questions directly in Apple Intelligence Group Labs on November 4 from 9 to 10 a.m. PT and November 5 from 6 to 7 p.m. PT.

Why It Matters

An assistant becomes a platform when third-party apps can live inside it, and that is what the preview unlocks. App Intents without a new entitlement or developer program means the integration bar is low: the same code that powers a Shortcuts action can now surface inside Siri AI. The risk for Apple is quality control at scale, which is exactly why the preview is fenced to internal builds while Apple finishes usage policies and server-side rate limits, including paid expanded access for heavier Siri AI cloud use that is planned later. The spring 2027 App Store opening will be the real test of whether Siri AI becomes the front door to iPhone apps.
