ロールプレイ is an AI-character and roleplay platform for fictional conversations, character creation and interactive stories. Its current website also presents AI City, a social-style feed where generated characters post and interact. These are simulated personalities and stories, not real people or evidence that a character has feelings or independent lived experience.

This overview is based on official public pages and app listings checked on October 17, 2026. We have not installed the apps, purchased an upgrade or tested conversations, memory or voice features.

What RolePlai offers

その 公式ウェブサイト advertises character creation with personalities and backstories, AI-generated images, conversation summaries, message editing and regeneration. It also describes group conversations with up to eight AI characters and AI Adventures, where choices shape a fictional narrative.

Voice and face chat are promoted alongside the text experience. Memory is another advertised feature, but we have not measured how much it retains or how consistently characters follow a backstory. Keep your own short scene notes if continuity matters, and check details rather than assuming the assistant remembers everything.

その AI City page extends the product beyond one-to-one chat into a public character-world experience. Before participating, distinguish public posts and shared characters from private conversations. Do not assume every app feature or account setting works identically on the website.

Apps, access and age ratings

Official listings are available on the US Apple App Store (NAIST) と Google Playで. Apple lists an 18+ rating, while the Google Play page reviewed shows Teen with suggestive themes. These are different storefront ratings, not interchangeable age rules or a guarantee that all generated content is suitable for younger users.

The privacy policy says the service is not directed to children under 13. That statement does not override a store’s stricter rating. Check the listing and applicable requirements in your region before downloading. This article focuses on adult creative use rather than recommending the product for children.

Free access, upgrades and billing

The homepage labels AI-character chat unlimited on both Free and Pro, with advertisements on Free and none on Pro. This is the provider’s advertised comparison, not a tested promise of unrestricted access to every feature. Its percentage claims about improved memory and intelligence are not independent benchmarks and are not used here to predict quality.

Apple lists free download with in-app purchases. The US listing shows an ad-free one-month item at $9.99, a one-year remove-ads item at $99.99 and another remove-ads item at $1.99 whose duration is not stated. These catalogue entries do not establish which offer you will receive or which current Pro features each purchase includes. Google Play also lists ads and in-app purchases.

Confirm the price, currency, billing interval, renewal terms, taxes and feature entitlement in your own purchase screen. No checkout or trial offer was tested. RolePlai’s キャンセルページ directs Apple and Android subscribers to their platform subscription settings and provides a separate form for web subscriptions. Follow the route used for your purchase and verify the resulting cancellation status.

A useful fictional writing exercise

仮説的な例: a writer wants to explore a scene between an original lighthouse keeper and a visiting cartographer. This is a suggested creative exercise, not a transcript or observed product output.

1. Define the characters. Give each a short backstory, a goal and a limitation. For example, the keeper knows local weather but has never travelled beyond the island.
2. Set a clear scene. Ask for a conversation about a damaged map before a storm. Specify a nonviolent mystery tone and a short response length.
3. Keep control of your character. Ask the AI to leave your character’s choices open rather than narrating decisions on your behalf.

5. Extract ideas, then rewrite. Keep useful tensions or questions in your own notes. Edit the scene in your own voice instead of treating every generated line as finished writing.

Use original characters and avoid uploading another person’s private photos or messages. A celebrity-style or historical persona is a simulation; its statements should not be attributed to the real person. If you publish a story, separately check permissions for any characters, images or source material you use.

Privacy: read beyond the on-device claim

An Apple release note says chat data remains on the device. However, Apple’s developer-provided privacy disclosure also lists usage tracking and collection of identifiers and usage data. Google Play describes potential sharing of app activity and device identifiers, collection of personal information, and a data-deletion request option. These disclosures do not establish that no information leaves your device.

リンクされた プライバシーポリシー, effective February 1, 2023, describes personal-information handling, error logs and third-party services including advertising and analytics providers. It does not clearly explain current AI-message processing, a complete model-provider list or a specific chat-retention schedule. Ask for clarification before sharing sensitive information.

The site’s Terms of Use link currently leads to that same privacy page; it separately links Apple’s standard application EULA. We did not verify a separate comprehensive web-service terms document. Do not infer an unrestricted licence to reuse community characters or generated images.

RolePlai may interest adults who enjoy interactive fiction, character experiments and improvisational dialogue. Evaluate it with a small, non-sensitive scenario and judge consistency, controls and cost for yourself. Language practice can be a creative activity, but generated corrections or explanations still need checking.

Characters can invent facts, contradict a scene or produce unwanted material. A persona labelled as a therapist or coach is still an AI character, not verified professional care.
